Storage hall with integrated office space

The customer is one of the leading importers, retailers and manufacturers in the timber industry. He was planning a second warehouse near Bonn in order to fulfil the conditions of the development in this industry.

The conveniently situated hall should have to integrate an office and should be adaptable to changing requirements. OHRA planned and realised a storage hall for this customer with cantilever racks which at the same time serve as supporting construction for the roof and the walls.

The basic space of the hall is 85 x 20 m and the height is 10.5 m. In the front part you will find a three-stage office plant made of timber under consideration of environmental regulations. Between office plant and storage hall the customer built a fire-wall in order to avoid a separation of the hall space. The advantage is, that now all trucks and transport devices can move safe and unhindered. The hall was designed with a saddle-roof which juts on both sides. With the application of a bulkhead now it is possible to use the exterior side as storage space.

In the hall you will find cantilever racks with columns height of 7.5 m and usable arm lengths of 800 mm and 1,200 mm for the different sizes and loads of the timber goods.

After the static calculation of the ground floor and the supporting columns through the OHRA static department, the customer could effect himself the roofing and the panelling of the hall.

The result of the teamwork is a big storage hall for an optimised workflow and an architectural well turned-out office plant which front-glazing is the attractive point. The customer now has only short ways between warehouse and office and thus guarantees a quick supply of his clients.
