Specialist retail – DIY/home improvement stores, garden centres, tile/flooring outlets, paint suppliers – presents a challenge in terms of storage systems that conventional industrial storage systems don't have to contend with. The storage is on-show to the buying public, who will walk past it and make judgments on your product based not only on your offerings but how well those products are presented to the buying public. However, that same storage is still required to carry heavy weight loads as well.

These systems have been constructed to our usual industrial standard but tailored to the requirements of displaying storage within customer spaces: robust, attractive, and flexible enough to accommodate seasonal changing product ranges.
Pallet racking - customer-facing
Unlike most industrial pallet racking, our retail pallet racking systems utilise hot rolled steel structural profiles rather than light-duty sheet metal, for two reasons: first, that steel structure means they can carry heavy loads over multiple years of daily use; second, that same sturdiness provides peace of mind when storing items in spaces with direct customer access.
Our industrial racking systems are the industry standard for pallets containing materials such as compost for garden centres, paint in drums for paint sellers, and tiles and slabs for DIY stores in Ireland.
Retail Cantilever Racking for Long Items
Long or bulky materials like timber, plasterboard, gutters, and fences require a racking format which can accommodate all the sizes of their products in easily-accessible storage bays. That is exactly what cantilever rack is intended to provide. Our cantilever racking systems do not include a front face support, ensuring a customer can identify the exact length of material he requires while leaving the rest of the bay intact.
Each one of our systems is constructed separately, and each one can be finished in either powder coat or hot dip galvanised steel, depending on the application. They are constructed of thick IPE steel columns and cantilevers capable of carrying heavy building materials safely and without risking damage to the load or structure.
Display Vertical Racking
For mouldings, profiles, bars, and tubes, our vertical racking systems offer an efficient way to both keep these products organised and allow customers easy access to them. For a specialised retailer, that accessibility can mean the difference between a sale and no sale, and our design capabilities ensure each vertical racking system maximises the chance of a sale being made.
OHRA Ireland designs vertical racking systems in multiple formats, finishes, and colours for use in showrooms and sales floors. Particularly useful for flooring retailers, tile dealers, door suppliers, and window sellers in Ireland, as their products' vertical positioning becomes part of their display.
Mezzanine floors
Each square metre of storage space you add in Ireland adds additional costs for renting, rates, and more opportunity cost per square foot. Steel mezzanine floors allow you to maximise the space you already have through the addition of an extra level which may become additional sales floor, office space, or even additional product storage area.
Each one of our mezzanine floors is a self-supporting structure that fits easily into whatever retail space you wish it to fit into. We provide a structural design allowing up to 1,000kg per m² load-bearing capacity, although this can be exceeded as necessary.
