Wooden furniture storage
Raw material storage that feeds your production line efficiently

When it comes to furniture manufacturing in Ireland and other wood processing operations, storage systems are never an isolated element in their own right but a first step in the production process. The efficiency of raw material flow from storage to production and the effectiveness of stock protection within your storage facility have a direct influence on the efficiency of the whole process further downstream.
At OHRA, we develop storage solutions that optimise material flow from storage to production, integrate the storage system into your material and production flow and utilise the effective floor and overhead space at your disposal to the highest extent.
If raw material storage is creating a bottleneck in your production flow, or your current setup isn't keeping pace with your manufacturing volume, get in touch. Get in touch and we will help to evaluate your current needs and offer you a solution together with a quotation.
Cantilever Racking for Raw Material Storage
For long, bulky composite panels and timber packages or sawn timbers intended for furniture production, cantilever racks are typically the first storage solution chosen by wood processing companies in Ireland and elsewhere. OHRA cantilever racking systems utilise robust profiles made of hot-rolled steel, providing maximum load bearing capacities within a relatively small footprint without taking up unnecessary production floor space.
Adjustable cantilever arms move sideways and vertically upon impact, preventing any damage to the racks and stored stock – an important consideration for any wood products soon to become a finished good, with wasted materials translating into a waste of money.

Automated Storage for High-Volume Production Feed
For furniture makers and wood processors working at high production volume, an automated storage system provides the speed and reliability necessary for a smooth production flow without manual picking becoming a bottleneck. This system operates according to the "goods to person" method, delivering complete panels and packages to the loading point directly linked to the production process.
The storage and retrieval machine in the system is capable of operating several aisles automatically, utilises automatic cornering techniques and is easily integrated into your existing ERP software, allowing for total visibility of stock level and automatic retrieval order scheduling based on your production requirements.
Key advantages:
- Maximum handling turnover for picking within production feed
- Manual or automatic operation mode; easy conversion between modes
- Integration with ERP software through standard modules
- One machine serves multiple aisles of storage
- Reduced initial costs compared to manual picking
Pallet Racking for Components and Finished Goods
In addition to storage of raw material, furniture manufacturers also require systems for storing finished goods as well as hardware, packaging materials and other components. Using pallet racking systems made from hot-rolled steel profiles, OHRA delivers higher load capacity than typical pallet racking solutions – a crucial factor in case of furniture or dense material.
Bigger bay widths utilised in OHRA pallet racking systems mean fewer structures are required for an equivalent storage volume, saving material and space. It is sturdy and safe enough to be used not only in warehouses but in showrooms as well.

Mezzanine Floors for Additional Production or Storage Space
The mezzanine floor increases your existing storage or production facility area by effectively using the previously unused vertical space above the floor. The self-supporting design of OHRA mezzanine floors fits any existing structure and is custom-made to suit your available area.
All OHRA mezzanine floors are equipped with staircases either made of gratings or wood with screw-fitted handrail and knee rail balustrades. Various configurations depend on the load weight and use of the mezzanine floor.
Key specifications:
- Combination of robust racking and mezzanine structures
- Ability to install second and third floors on request
- 350kg/m² load capacity on passage between racks
- Various surfaces depending on requirement
- Wide range of accessories: lighting, ladder, staircase
